ESF Share the Joy!

Since the 1950s, the Empty Stocking Fund has been a lifeline for families in the Battlefords, ensuring that those who are struggling can still feel the warmth and joy of the holiday season. We not only help during the holidays but also operate a year-round food bank, serving thousands of individuals every month.Our mission is rooted in values that matter: integrity, charity, compassion,and above all, upholding the dignity of every person we serve.Imagine living every single day worried if you’ll have enough to feed your children, or choosing between paying rent and buying groceries. These are real stories from the people who come through our doors every day. People like a single mother of three, who is forced to live on child support because working full-time would mean paying more for childcare than she can earn. Or a man receiving dialysis three times a week, scraping by on a social services cheque that barely covers his rent.

After The Bell Program

For most kids, the last day of school marks the start of carefree summer days filled with sunshine, laughter, and friends. But for others, it signals the end of crucial in-school meal programs that support their growing bodies. That's why, for the past six years, the Battlefords District Food & Resource Centre (BDFRC) has proudly partnered with Food Banks Canada to offer the After the Bell program.

Learn How To Garden...Lasagna Style!

Discover the magic of gardening without the hassle of digging or tilling! Join us this Friday between 1:00pm-3:00pm, June 28th at 1742 101st St. (weather permitting) for a hands-on experience at the Battlefords District Food & Resource Centre’s Lasagna Garden. All those who show up will be entered into a draw for a fabulous summer prize!!

Thankful for Volunteers!

Rain or shine, we are incredibly grateful for our dedicated volunteers who consistently show up to support those in need at the food bank. Thanks to their unwavering commitment, like that of our amazing volunteer Linda, last week alone, the Battlefords District Food & Resource Centre provided food to over 800 individuals here in the Battlefords and neighbouring communities.

A big shout-out to the North Battleford Fire Department for their incredible support in filling our Lasagna Garden water tank! Despite their busy schedule, they generously spared their time, turning what would have been a full-day task for us into just an hour of teamwork.

Lasagna Garden Volunteers Wanted!

Have you heard of Lasagna gardening? Curious to see it in action? Visit the BDFRC Lasagna garden at 1742 101st St North Battleford. We've already planted potatoes, onions, carrots, cucumbers, tomatoes, and peppers, with more to come! Whether you're a seasoned gardener or just starting out, join us on Monday and Friday afternoons between 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM to learn how to grow and maintain your own Lasagna Garden. Discover a new way to garden that's both innovative and rewarding!
